I know I’ve been a little quiet over here in blog land lately, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy! To my regular readers, you may have already noticed some changes – namely my header and blog name. Yep, that’s right, major changes are going on around here, and I’ll be writing a post soon to explain it all and let you know what’s in store.
I had grand plans to launch my new blog makeover (all complete) on October 1st. Well, life happened, and while I’ve been pretty busy behind the scenes, I’m not quite ready to roll out the whole thing, so you’ll have to pardon a little dust.
I really wanted to participate in 31 Days, though, so I’m not letting the half complete blog and blog design stop me from participating. If you aren’t familiar with 31 Days, it’s a huge project hosted by www.thenester.com each October. She picks a topic and writes about it each day in October, and invites us to join her by picking our own topic. I’m happy to say that I’m up to the challenge, and I present to you:
I’ll be writing about overcoming fear – it’s not that I feel qualified to write about this, but that I need to issue the challenge to myself and hope that I can inspire you along the way.
This topic has been on my mind a lot. My unofficial goal for 2012 has been to push past my fears and to become so accustomed to going out of my comfort zone that I’m comfortable going outside my comfort zone. I certainly haven’t fully succeeded, but I’ve accomplished so much more than I would have if I had just stayed in the same place – giving in 90% of the time to my fears.
I can’t tell you how much I’ve gained and how great it’s been to push through some of my fears this year (despite many failures). It makes me wonder how much I’ve missed out on in the past, and I don’t want to do that again.
This is also a fitting topic since I’ll be heading to the Allume conference at the end of the month, and I couldn’t be more terrified! It’s a conference with 400 other Christian women bloggers, and I know absolutely no one (including my 3 roommates).
