Week in Review and Weekly Goals
I don’t often share personal updates here on the blog, but I thought some of you would enjoy hearing what’s been going on in my life, so I may start posting this weekly updates more regularly (although probably not every single week.
My big accomplishment for last week was getting my last batch of ebay stuff I sold shipped out, along with taking a whole bunch of stuff to Goodwill. Getting read of things feels so good! My husband got rid of several books he doesn’t need, an I went through my older clothes (that don’t fit) and got rid of several things. Once something is out of your house you never have to organize it again! It’s the best organizing tool there is, it’s completely free, and it helps others!
My husband also made a lot of progress on our basement. It’s been in a weird semi-finished state since we moved in. Long story, but lots of ugly wood paneling, in several layers and some wallpaper coupled with a “flood” the day before we moved in from a broken water line to the refrigerator resulted in a total disaster:
He has taken off all the wallpaper (super easy, actually, when it’s on top of paneling), all the bottom paneling, sanded off all the glue where the light color paneling was attached to the original paneling, filled in all the cracks with drywall mud, sanded it, and primed. We also have everything out of there (moved it to the garage), and he’s ready to paint! It already looks so much better and brighter! I can’t wait to show after photos. (I would take a current in progress photo, but it’s already dark.
This weekend we traveled several hours to my cousin’s wedding in Tennessee. It was a pretty quick trip with a lot of time spent in the car, but we really enjoyed the time we got to spend with family and were so glad to get to be at the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding. Here’s my husband and I ready to head to the wedding. (Notice the railing hiding the baby bump – I didn’t even plan it that way!)
I had a midwife appointment last week at 32 weeks, and everything is still looking great! I’m pretty sure she’s finally turned head down. I’ve gained a total of 4 pounds so far this pregnancy, but 3 of those were put on in the last 3 weeks! She really hit a growth spurt, and I can definitely feel it! I’ve been growing so quickly, everything feels so tight, and her movements have gotten more forceful and visible. It’s very exciting and hard to believe that she should be here in 6-10 weeks! I’m grateful not to have had any major problems, but I’ve been dealing with the normal third trimester discomforts.

My under the stairs closet is the only storage space we really have – that’s probably my biggest organizational challenge in or house!

Congrats on your pregnancy!! I had twin girls 4 months ago today!! They were born on Valentine’s day! I was actually due March 8th, but had some end of pregnancy complications and they had to come that day! They’re growing like crazy! Our Elyssa was 5 lbs 9 oz and Our Elayna was 4 lbs. 9 oz. Now Elayna is 11 lbs 14 oz and I’m not sure about Elyssa, they have an appointment in a couple weeks! 🙂 Hoping the rest of your pregnancy is smooth sailing! I know how uncomfortable those last weeks can be, I was in bed most of my last month or so.

First off I want to say great blog! I had a quick
question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself and
clear your thoughts prior to writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?

It doesn’t always start flowing for me right away. I think a few minutes to get going is normal and is part of the process.
